Summary
Full Tilt Poker is known around the world as the second leading online poker room available, and they're not far off 1st in the entire world. As a matter of fact, Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars are constantly in a direct competition, creating better bonuses and game opportunities for poker players.
Launched in 2004, Full Tilt Poker gained a large part of their market share by maintaining its commitment to US player acceptance after the introduction of the UIGEA. The website is represented by some of the hottest poker pro's on the circuit at current, including newly signed online poker phenom, Tom "durrrr" Dwan. You can learn from them, and challenge them directly on the virtual felt. Full Tilt Pros include Howard Lederer, Phil Ivey, Chris Ferguson, John Juanda, Jennifer Harman, Phil Gordon, Erick Lindgren, Erik Seidel, Andy Bloch, Mike Matusow, Gus Hansen, Allen Cunningham, Patrik Antonius and Tom 'durrrr' Dwan.
Games
Full Tilt offers Holdem Poker, Omaha and Omaha Hi-Lo in fixed limit, no limit, pot limit and mixed limit varieties. Stud games are offered in Hi, Hi-Lo and Razz (low) variations. Full Tilt also offers a variety of mixed games, like H.O.R.S.E., H.O.S.E. and H.A. These are a pretty awesome choice for players looking to mix it up a little bit, and not play the same old game day in, day out.
Tournaments
The Full Tilt Poker tournaments schedule offers non stop around the clock action for tournament players. The site offers all three styles of tournaments, Multi Table (MTT) tournament's, single-Table Sit n Go (SNG) tournaments, and Multi-Table SNGs.
Full Tilt has a massive guaranteed tournament schedule as well. Guaranteed prize pool tournaments are listed in the Full Tilt Poker Lobby in Pink.
Other fun Full Tilt Poker tournaments include the knockout tournaments, which are a lot like a bounty tournament where every player has a bounty on their head. In these games, a portion of every buyin goes towards the players bounty. Knock a player out and you’re a winner before the game even is even over.
The biggest day for Full Tilt Poker is Sunday. Big Money Sundays at Full Tilt feature what are by far the most popular tournaments in the poker room, including more than $1,000,000 in guaranteed poker tournaments. The biggest of the day is the Sunday $750k GTD. The 200k Double Deuce is also a lot of fun! Buy in for 20 bux and win a share of a prize pool guaranteed to be at least $200k.
Freerolls are a big part of the roster as well. Full Tilt Poker offers 12 satellite poker tournaments everyday that give every poker player at Full Tilt their chance to play in the Full Tilt Poker weekly $1000.00 freeroll poker tournaments. If you don't win your seat in a satellite, you're just not getting in. This tourney is invite only. Finish in the top 250, and you’ll win your seat.
Software
Full Tilt's software is one of the most highly developed and constantly updated poker software platforms in the poker world. The site offers crisp graphics, and fairly simple navigation. One of the major downfalls in navigation is that the tournament names are not visible from the lobby. If you want to play a specific tournament, you will have to click on every tournament and view the individual tournament entry screen to find it. Larger tournaments like the 750k guaranteed tourney on Sundays are obvious because of the number of players entered, other tournaments can be a real pain to find in the FTP lobby.
That aside however, Full Tilt's software lacks nothing. The software offers multi-tabling, cute avatars and interesting table designs. It's fast, disconnects are light (depending of course on whether or not you're using random junk wi-fii connections).
Some special features include the ability to ‘Run It Twice’ and ‘Find a Player’, handy for finding your favorite fish or railing the high stakes games. Detachable chat windows , essential lobby stats, (viewed flop %, average pot size, hands per hour, etc.), in-game stats, and hand histories are all very useful. Realistic poker dealing and chip rumbling sounds can be turned on or off, and likely the most useful of all of are the handy features we've come to rely on when playing poker online.
