The UBOC (Ultimate Bet Online Championship) has always been a thing of wonder for online poker players, awarding millions in guaranteed jackpots over a multitude of events. This weekend, the UBOC poker tournament will offer something members of the online poker room have never seen before – a $750,000 GTD High Roller NL Hold’em Deep Stack event.

Slated for Sunday, January 23rd, UBOC6 Event #16 will incur a $2k+$100 buy-in with kick-off time at 5:00 pm ET. It is anticipated that many of the world’s best online poker players will show up for the exceptional high roller format at UB.com.

“I’m looking forward to hosting the biggest buy-in event at UB,” commented Prahlad Friedman, Team UB Pro. “It’s the deep stack $750K guaranteed and the best of the best will challenge each other. This is the tourney that everyone wants to win.”

With a buy-in of $2,000+$100, the prize pool could easily exceed its guaranteed $750k mark. However, even though UB is one of the leading online poker sites in the industry (largely due to its continued US player acceptance and multi-platform download compatibility), many of its largest guaranteed tournaments see overlays rather than exceeding prize pools.

Overlays are, by nature, some of the most valuable tournaments for online poker players. When a poker tourney guarantees a specific amount, and not enough players post the buy-in to cover that prize, it means the competition is lower than expected. Thus the most skilled and experienced players have a higher expectancy for cashing in the online poker event.

UB is of course hosting numerous satellites to each of its UBOC6 events. Satellites for the $750k GTD High Roller NL Hold’em Deep Stack are running daily at the online poker room and will continue to do so right up until the start of the event.

UB is a part of the Cereus Poker Network, along with Absolute Poker. This is great news for members of the sister site as Absolute Poker is also offering satellites and direct entries to all UBOC6 events. There is a UBOC link on the Absolute Poker website with full details.

As usual, UB is also hosting a parallel Mini-UBOC tournament series. Players can jump into mirror tournaments with 1/10th the buy-in, and 1/10th the guaranteed prize pools. The mini version of the online poker championship offers a perfect opportunity for casual online poker players to get in on the action without putting a dent in their virtual wallets.
