A player on a losing streak, or a slot machine that is not paying out.
In the context of gambling and casinos, the term "cold" typically refers to a situation where a particular game, machine, or betting strategy is not performing well or has not been yielding wins for a player over a period of time. For example, if a slot machine hasn't paid out any significant wins for a long stretch, players might refer to it as being "cold." Similarly, a table game might be described as "cold" if players are consistently losing. The term can also apply to a player's luck; if someone is experiencing a losing streak, they might say they are "cold."
