Face Cards
1 min read
The Jack, Queen, and King of any suit of cards.
In a standard deck of playing cards, "face cards" refer to the three court cards in each suit: the Jack, Queen, and King. These cards are called "face cards" because they typically feature illustrations of faces (the figures of the royalty). In many card games, face cards often hold higher value than numbered cards, with some games assigning specific point values to them. For example, in blackjack, face cards are valued at 10 points.
