Hard Way Bet (or The Hardway Bet)

In craps, a hard way is the total sum of 2 dice of the same value.
A "Hard Way Bet" (or "The Hardway Bet") is a type of wager in the game of craps. It involves betting that a specific combination of the dice will be rolled before a 7 is rolled, with the specific requirement that the numbers must be made in a "hard way" (i.e., as a pair).
The common hard way bets are:
- Hard 4: Betting that a 2 and a 2 will be rolled before a 7 or before a 3 (which can be made with a 1 and a 2).
- Hard 6: Betting that a 3 and a 3 will be rolled before a 7 or before a 5 (which can be made with a 2 and a 3).
- Hard 8: Betting that a 4 and a 4 will be rolled before a 7 or before a 6 (which can be made with a 2 and a 4).
- Hard 10: Betting that a 5 and a 5 will be rolled before a 7 or before a 4 (which can be made with a 6 and a 4).
These bets have higher payouts than other bets due to their lower probability of winning, as there are more combinations that can produce the same total without being "hard." For example, the hard 4 can be made with (2,2) but also with (1,3) or (3,1), which are not considered hard ways.
