Punto Banco
Baccarat (European)
Punto Banco is a popular variant of the card game baccarat, often played in casinos. The name translates from Spanish as "Player Banker." In this game, there are three possible outcomes for each round: the player wins, the banker wins, or the game results in a tie.
In Punto Banco, players do not make decisions about how to play their hands; instead, the outcome is determined by the dealing of cards according to predetermined rules. The game is typically played with multiple decks of cards, and the objective is to bet on which hand (the player’s or the banker’s) will have a total value closest to nine.
Card values in Punto Banco are as follows:
- Aces are worth 1 point.
- Cards 2 through 9 are worth their face value.
- Tens and face cards (Kings, Queens, Jacks) are worth 0 points.
The game is known for its simple rules and fast pace, making it a favorite among high rollers and casual players alike.
