Seventh Street

1 min read

In seven-card stud, the fifth and final round of betting is called seventh street because players have seven cards.

In poker, particularly in games like Texas Hold'em and Omaha, "Seventh Street" refers to the final community card dealt in the game. In Texas Hold'em, players are dealt two private cards (hole cards) and five community cards are dealt face up on the table in three stages: the "flop" (three cards), the "turn" (one card), and finally the "river" (the fifth and last community card). The "Seventh Street" is synonymous with the "river" card, as it completes the board and allows players to make their final hand before the showdown. In the context of Seven Card Stud, it refers to the final card dealt to each player, which is also the seventh card in total.
