Shill
A person who actively plays in the game for the house, club, or casino. Usually seen at a Baccarat table to fill empty seats, until more real players join in.
In the context of gambling and casinos, a "shill" refers to an individual who is hired or acts on behalf of a casino or gambling establishment to create the illusion of a busy or successful game. Shills may play at tables or participate in games to encourage other players to join by making the game appear more popular or lucrative. They may also engage in deceptive practices to influence the behavior of other players or to promote certain games or betting options. Essentially, shills help to manipulate the environment to attract more genuine players and increase revenue for the casino.
