In craps, the player who is throwing the dice.
In casino gambling, particularly in the game of craps, the term "shooter" refers to the player who is rolling the dice. The shooter is responsible for making the initial roll, and the outcome of that roll can determine the game's progression for all players at the table. In craps, the shooter must establish a point or roll a winning combination on the come-out roll, which sets the stage for subsequent rolls. The role of the shooter can rotate among players at the table after a round is completed or if the shooter loses their turn.
