Standing Hand

In blackjack, any hand with a hard total of 17 or more.

In casino gambling, particularly in the context of card games like blackjack, a "standing hand" refers to a situation where a player has chosen not to take any additional cards and is satisfied with their current total. This decision is often made when the player believes that their hand is strong enough to compete against the dealer's hand without the risk of going over the maximum total (21 in blackjack). When a player stands, they effectively end their turn, and the game proceeds to the dealer's turn or to the next player.
