Suit
1 min read
Any one of the four types of cards: clubs, diamonds, hearts or spades.
In the context of card games, particularly in games like poker and blackjack, a "suit" refers to one of the categories into which the cards are divided. In a standard deck of playing cards, there are four suits:
- Hearts (♥)
- Diamonds (♦)
- Clubs (♣)
- Spades (♠)
Each suit contains 13 cards, ranging from Ace to King. The concept of suits is important in many card games as they can determine the strength of a hand, the rules for play, and various strategies. In some games, certain suits may have special significance or may be ranked differently.
