New Jersey may not legalize and regulate sports betting any time soon, but that’s not stopping them from allowing gambling on sporting events!

A few months ago, Chris Christie made a move to get sports betting, both online and offline, legalized in New Jersey. While it passed, it was quickly put on hold by the big four sports leagues – the MLB, NBA, NHL, and NFL. Adam Silver, NBA Commissioner, later elaborated, stating that he’d love for it to be legalized and that there needs to be some sort of framework for it. Now, another member of the big four has caved.

As we’ve been saying all along, it was only a matter of time before RAWA was reintroduced to Congress. After it failed to gain traction last year, it was expected to be retooled and reintroduced. However, it wasn’t Sheldon Adelson that reintroduced it to Congress.

As we’ve reported in recent weeks, the talks to legalize both offline and online sports gambling have been heating up. Though the large sports leagues managed to put a hold on the progression for now, the issue is gathering more support, and the latest person to publicly speak on the issue may come as a shock – Arizona Senator John McCain.

By now, you’ve likely heard about Chris Christie’s quest to legalize online sports betting, which would be a stepping stone to the legalization of online gambling.

California’s always at the center of every decision. It makes sense, too, considering it’s the most populated state in the country by roughly 12 million people. It should come as no surprise, then, to learn that California, having failed to legalize online poker in the past, is trying to do so once again.

This is a huge deal for Canada, and it should prove to be very successful. It’s often cold there, so many people won’t want to leave their houses. The ability to play online from the comfort of their home will be greatly appreciated by the residents of Ontario.
