A New Las Vegas Resort Could Replace the Abandoned SkyVue Project

The resort will be built on the abandoned location of the unfinished SkyVue observation wheel project. The original plan for the land was to build an observation wheel that would have competed with the biggest observation wheels in the world. However, construction of the wheel was halted, leaving behind two massive concrete pillars.

These two pillars have earned the project the nickname “pillars of sadness.”

The approximately 12-acre plot is set to transform.

The resort will feature a 29-story building with 752 hotel rooms. Its most prominent feature is a heart-shaped glass exterior that makes the resort stand out as a new Las Vegas landmark.

Considering the city already has recreations of the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, the Egyptian pyramids and Venetian canals. One would think that a giant glass heart wouldn’t be out of place in the city.

Indeed, one has to wonder why nobody thought of this idea sooner.

What Can Guests Expect Inside?

Sure, the resort puts effort into its exterior architecture to capture guests’ attention from a distance. However, there are more reasons why guests will want to explore the resort beyond its one-of-a-kind exterior.

For starters, the resort will feature a casino floor for those who visit in search of entertainment and to indulge in some gambling action. However, specific details about the casino remain a mystery.

The plans extend well beyond gambling, though.

In addition to the casino, the plans include a restaurant, retail space, a swimming pool and entertainment facilities. The property is also to include convention space. This will allow the site to cater to business travellers and those attending convention events.

A six-story parking garage comes with the property.
