New Heart-Shaped Las Vegas Resort Set to Transform the Strip

If you’re one of the many who loves gambling and entertainment. And all that makes Sin City such a larger-than-life destination, there could be another reason to plan a trip soon. An ambitious resort is being proposed for a vacant spot near the Strip in Las Vegas, and the resort’s unusual design could make it one of the most recognizable structures in the city upon completion.
The resort will have 752 rooms and will feature a heart-shaped glass façade that will make it different from the other casinos that dominate the Las Vegas Strip. In a city known for its need to stand out, a resort with such a giant heart-shaped structure seems surprisingly fitting.
A New Las Vegas Resort Could Replace the Abandoned SkyVue Project
The resort will be built on the abandoned location of the unfinished SkyVue observation wheel project. The original plan for the land was to build an observation wheel that would have competed with the biggest observation wheels in the world. However, construction of the wheel was halted, leaving behind two massive concrete pillars.
These two pillars have earned the project the nickname “pillars of sadness.”
The approximately 12-acre plot is set to transform.
The resort will feature a 29-story building with 752 hotel rooms. Its most prominent feature is a heart-shaped glass exterior that makes the resort stand out as a new Las Vegas landmark.
Considering the city already has recreations of the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, the Egyptian pyramids and Venetian canals. One would think that a giant glass heart wouldn’t be out of place in the city.
Indeed, one has to wonder why nobody thought of this idea sooner.
What Can Guests Expect Inside?
Sure, the resort puts effort into its exterior architecture to capture guests’ attention from a distance. However, there are more reasons why guests will want to explore the resort beyond its one-of-a-kind exterior.
For starters, the resort will feature a casino floor for those who visit in search of entertainment and to indulge in some gambling action. However, specific details about the casino remain a mystery.
The plans extend well beyond gambling, though.
In addition to the casino, the plans include a restaurant, retail space, a swimming pool and entertainment facilities. The property is also to include convention space. This will allow the site to cater to business travellers and those attending convention events.
A six-story parking garage comes with the property.
All these features indicate that this development will be an entertainment destination, not just another hotel with a casino.
This is important to Las Vegas resorts today. While Las Vegas resorts may include gambling as a major component of their resorts. They must also compete with restaurants, nightlife, entertainment venues, shows, shopping areas and other unique experiences for the traveller. While visitors may spend the evening at the casino, they also want to eat, drink and relax somewhere at the resort.
The new Las Vegas resort appears to be designed for exactly that kind of traveler.
Could the Heart Become a New Vegas Landmark?
The heart-shaped design of the resort is the most intriguing aspect of the resort.
Las Vegas architecture has never been too subtle about drawing visitors’ attention to the city. Every building on the Strip puts considerable effort into drawing the attention of travellers before they even enter the buildings.
Adding a heart-shaped structure to the city would fit right in with the architectural style of the Strip.
There is also the potential for this building to become a significant photo spot for visitors. People could feature it in their photos and share them online. Given that the resort will cater to couples, it’s likely to become the spot of choice for couples posing for photos during their vacations in Vegas.
After all, Las Vegas is already one of the world’s most famous wedding destinations.
It’s also satisfying to see Las Vegas replace the abandoned structures of the former SkyVue with a design filled with optimism. Going from the “pillars of sadness” to a giant heart is a dramatic makeover.
Another Big Development for Las Vegas
Though all new casinos draw the attention of locals and tourists alike. This particular casino development also offers the potential to transform a Las Vegas site that has remained unfinished for several years.
The proposed Las Vegas resort will include around 500 hotel rooms and will add new casinos, dining options, retail and entertainment options to the city. For the visitor, this resort will add a new visual feature to a city already famous for its unusual architecture.
Nevertheless, the concept alone has our attention.
Las Vegas is well-known for its ambitious construction projects. Whether it was replicas of Paris and Venice throughout the desert. There is no better way to build a giant glass heart within the city that refuses to miss an opportunity to entice the gamblers that flock to the Strip and beyond.
When built, this resort will transform the abandoned site into one of the most photographed developments in the city.
And where better to build one of the largest hearts in the world than in the heart of gambling in Las Vegas?
