Different Types of Bets in Roulette

Most people are familiar with the standard layout of the roulette betting table. It contains all of the numbers and their standard groupings as depicted on the table, allowing players to set their chips on the desired bet. However, there are a few other wagers available that the most experienced players know as Fixed Call Bets, or Announced Bets. Customarily, they only appear on the table in online roulette, whereas players must call them out to the croupier in a live casino.

Fixed Call Bets are another way to bet on specific groups of numbers. Instead of being grouped on the table, such as row bets, street bets or dozens, they are grouped on the roulette wheel.

If you take a look at the roulette wheel, you can see that the numbers are not in order. They are separated by a sequence of red and black, altering from high to low. Call bets are designed to let the player bet on an exclusive segment or segments of the numbers as they appear on the wheel. They are labeled in French terms that define their location.

Note: The following betting options are based on the standard European roulette wheel, containing a single zero (0), but no double zero (00), as found in American roulette. The payouts on all Call Bets are based on their position. A single number bet pays 35 to 1, a split bet pays 17 to 1, a trio bet pays 11 to 1 and a corner bet pays 8 to 1.

Voisins du Zero (Neighbors of Zero)
This is a bet on the 17 numbers surrounding the zero (0) on the roulette wheel, including the zero (0) itself. They range from the 22 to the 25 and include the following numbers:
22, 18, 29, 7, 28, 12, 35, 3, 26, 0, 32, 15, 19, 4, 21, 2, 25
The bet is placed in a specific manner that requires a multiple of 9 chips. One chip is placed on the 4/7 split, one on the 12/15 split, one on the 18/21 split, one on the 19/22 split, one on the 32/35 split, two on the trio of 0/2/3 and two on the corner of 25/26/28/29.

Jeu Zero (Zero Game)

Similar to Voisins du Zéro, this is a bet on 7 numbers surrounding the zero (0) on the roulette wheel, including the following:
12, 35, 3, 26, 0, 22, 15
This bet requires 4 chips. One chip is placed on the 0/3 split, one on the 12/15 split, one on the 32/35 split, and a single number bet on 26.

Le Tiers du Cylindre (Thirds of the Wheel)
This bet places a wager on all of the 12 numbers on the wheel opposite the 0, ranging from 27 to 33. The selected numbers are as follows:
27, 13, 36, 11, 30, 8, 23, 10, 5, 24, 16, 33
The bet requires 6 chips, with one chip placed on each of the following splits: 5/8, 10/11, 13/16, 23/24, 27/30 and 33/36.

Orphelins (Orphans)
Aptly names, this is a wager on all of the numbers left out by the aforementioned Call Bets. It covers two portions of the wheel, 1 to 9 and 17 to 6, for a total of 8 numbers.
1, 20, 14, 31, 9, 17, 34, 6
You will need 5 chips to place this bet. One chip will be wagered on each of the following splits: 6/9, 14/17, 17/20 and 31/34, and the final chip placed as a single number bet on 1.
